Oki C5100 - It's Toner Cartridge Need Not Be Expensive

This laser printer, the Oki C5100, is a very good printer for what you pay for it. The only drawback to it is that the printer is somewhat large, and if you decide to purchase it, it will take up a lot of your desk area. If you don't care about the size of your printer, however, then you will really like this model.

The Oki C5100 has many features available on it. Just to begin with, it has a single pass engine which can print up to 12 color pages per minute and up to 20 black and white pages per minute. This makes it one of the faster printers in this price range. The Oki C5100 has a 250 sheet feeder also, and an auto duplex option is also available. Further options are a 10/100 Ethernet network port and an USB 2.0 port.

This printer comes with four separate toner cartridges, one for black, magenta, cyan, and yellow. This is a great system due to if you run out of cyan ink, you will not need to replace the whole color toner, instead you just replace the cyan. The Oki toner, however, yields less pages than a typical toner, and a full set costs about $150 for a generic branded toner.

The solid ink produced by the specific brand have noticeably higher prices. Some websites had the set of four toners for about four hundred dollars! I would recommend the generic branded toners because they perform the same job at a lower price.

The Oki 5300 is also produced by the previously mentioned brand. This printer has twice the RAM as its predecessor, and its processing speed is double that of the old model. The speed of its printing has stayed the same, the Oki 5300's ink prints color pages at a rate of twelve a minute, and black and white pages at twenty a minute.

Hopefully, this information about color laser printers has been helpful in telling you the different features that these two printers have and the cost of the ink toners that people factor in when buying a new printer. The cost of ink is always of great importance, so make sure you look into the cost of ink along with the cost of the printer.

The Oki c5100 printer features a single-pass engine design that allows it to process 12 color pages, or 20 b/w pages, per minute and it contains a 10/100 Ethernet port and USB 2.0 connectivity. It comes with four separate toners, so the entire ink cartridge does not need to be replaced if you run out of one color. The Oki toner, however, yields less pages than a typical toner, and a complete set of generic toner costs about 0. Another available model, the Okidata 5300 has twice the RAM and processing speed of its predecessor. Printing speed remains at 12 color pages, or 20 b/w pages, per minute.
